Dominica Independence Day

The Commonwealth of Dominica is a Caribbean island country and is classified as being a part of the north American continent. Dominica celebrates its Independence Day on November 3rd. The flag colors include a green background representing the lush vegetation of the island. The cross represents the Trinity and Christianity, with its three colors symbolizing the natives, the fertile soil, and the pure water. The 10 green stars stand for the country’s 10 parishes. These parishes include St Andrew, St David, St George, St John, St Joseph, St Luke, St Mark, St Patrick, St Paul, and St Peter. The centered red disc stands for justice with its national bird a purple Sisserou parrot.
