Macau Independence Day
Macau is an east Asian special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China located on the Asian continent. As an administrative region of China Macau celebrates its national day the same as mainland China on October 1st. The flag colors include a light green background with a lotus flower above the stylized Governador Nobre de Carvalho Bridge and water in white, beneath an arc of five gold stars. The Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge is one of the most recognizable landmarks for the territory and links the Macau Peninsula and the island of Taipa. The water beneath the lotus and the bridge symbolizes Macau’s position as a port and its role played in the territory. The five gold stars symbolizes the relationship Macau has with its sovereign state.
